10TH ANNUAL WEST O`AHU EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS FAIR

SEPTEMBER 21, 2024

IROQUOIS POINT, HI —
Kapilina Beach Homes in partnership with the Island Preparedness Group will host the 10th annual West O`ahu Emergency Preparedness Fair on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Kapilina Beach Homes.

This event is FREE, open to the public, and intends to draw West O`ahu residents—providing a venue to interact with local subject matter experts, gaining insight and information of how to prepare for emergencies such as hurricanes, tsunamis, wildfires, etc.

Recent events have proven that being prepared is significantly important. Understanding how hazards will impact our island communities will determine what is essential—knowing who to listen to; what to have ready; when to shelter or evacuate; where to go—these questions and many more can all be answered here. Peruse the resources of over twenty agencies in attendance. From keiki to kupuna, there will be something for everyone.

The Island Preparedness Group
is a non-profit organization with a mission to “foster community resilience through preparedness education in West O`ahu.” Formerly the `Ewa Emergency Preparedness Committee and Wai`anae Coast Disaster Readiness Team, the two merged to serve the entirety of West O`ahu, supporting emergency management initiatives in preparedness, response, recovery, mitigation, and prevention.

Kapilina Beach Homes, is a rental community nestled at Iroquois Point between `Ewa and Pearl Harbor–Hickam. Formerly, military housing, this privately owned beachfront neighborhood is accessible to the public. “Sitting on a spectacular one-mile stretch of secluded beach, you’ll encounter the enchanting Kapilina Beach Homes—a tight-knit community where you’ll find a welcoming `ohana, amazing activities for all ages, and plenty of privacy and peace when you want to unwind.”
