ʻEWA BEACH, HI (July 21, 2025) – The Hawaiian Humane Society invites West Oʻahu families and animal lovers to join the 2nd Annual Keiki, Canine & Kitty Fest presented by Josie's ʻOhana on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 11 am to 2 pm at the Kosasa Family Campus at Hoʻopili (91-1945 Fort Weaver Road, ʻEwa Beach, HI 96706). This popular community gathering returns with free admission, though attendees are encouraged to bring pet food for Hawaiian Humane's Pet Food Bank or items from the Wish List at HawaiianHumane.org/wishlist to support animals in need.
In celebration of the festival, Josie's ʻOhana is sponsoring all adoption fees for all animals at both Hawaiian Humane's Kosasa Family Campus at Hoʻopili and Mōʻiliʻili Campus for the entire day on Saturday, July 26, 2025. This generous sponsorship aims to help as many shelter pets as possible find loving homes.
The festival offers a vibrant mix of entertainment and fun for the entire family. Attendees can enjoy interactive games with exciting prizes, savor ʻono grinds and refreshing drinks from local vendors, and explore a dedicated Keiki Corner featuring creative activities designed to delight young animal lovers. Face painting and glitter tattoos will transform eager participants into their favorite characters, while traditional lawn games like cornhole provide friendly competition alongside a spinning prize wheel filled with surprises.
Local vendors bringing delicious food to the event include Smash Lemon, Corn Onoz Hawaiʻi, HI Cravings and Wasabi Express by Tiger. Families can also browse unique offerings from Blythe Graphic Designs, plus exclusive Hawaiian Humane Society merchandise.
"Supporting the Kosasa Family Campus and its remarkable impact on our West Oʻahu community continues to be incredibly meaningful to me," said Helen "Josie" Josypenko of Josie's ʻOhana, presenting sponsor of the Keiki, Canine & Kitty Fest. "This festival demonstrates how community celebration and animal welfare can beautifully intersect, creating space for our keiki to develop genuine connections with animals in need while inspiring the next generation to carry forward our shared commitment to caring for all living beings."
Families attending the festival will have the opportunity to meet adoptable pets, with on-site adoptions available throughout the day. To ensure the safety and comfort of all attendees and animals, Hawaiian Humane kindly asks that personal pets remain at home while families enjoy the chance to connect with animals seeking their new homes.
Special programming throughout the day will include Hawaiian Humane’s Teens4Animals keiki games, Girl Scouts of Hawaiʻi keiki activities, and a lucky draw by Hawaiian Humane’s Junior Development Council. Hawaiian Humane staff will be present to share information about volunteer opportunities including fostering programs and other community involvement options. Attendees can learn more about Hawaiian Humane programs and services throughout the event. The event will feature hydration stations and first aid services to ensure everyone's comfort and safety.
Hawaiian Humane extends deep appreciation to presenting sponsor Josie's ʻOhana for making this celebration and the sponsored adoptions possible, and to MINI of Hawaiʻi for sponsoring the keiki activities at the event.
